Technical Project Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA  

Pay Range: $140,000 - $150,000  

Employment Type: Perm

Our Project Managers are detail-orientated problem solvers, able to pull from engineering, production and supply experience to become subject matter experts, delivering customer products on time and at the most competitive cost. 


About You

Ideally you are currently working in the retail equipment and fixtures industry and have 5-10 years of project management experience, developing coordinating, and sourcing offshore programs. Our ideal candidate is ready to take the next step in their career with a dynamic company who is changing the sourcing model for marketing at retail programs. Job Description

Your primary focus will be to effectively and efficiently develop projects, managing through potentially all stages of an equipment development lifecycle, from initial engineering, cost estimating, factory liaison, quotations/offer building, prototyping and manufacturing and delivery. You are a confident communicator, and you will engage with clients as required in partnership with our Account Directors. You will have in-depth understanding of permanent equipment substrates, and manufacturing processes, (metal, plastic, wood) and you can interpret engineering drawings – this will be the backbone of your responsibility to service the opportunities. You will be running exciting projects for US retailers and international brands, in partnership with preferred manufacturers in The Far East, Eastern Europe and the Americas.


You will be part of an extremely experienced organization, and you will have access to additional support in specialist areas. Regular check-ins with all stakeholders and detailed reporting and analysis on every aspect of your projects will be essential.


Responsibilities

  • Working face to face with key client contacts and your partner AD, you will be consulted on manufacturing briefs and/or purchase orders and convert them into clear and concise instructions to guide the team’s process through our global manufacturing locations.
  • Plan and execute project work, evaluate, improve, and implement new product/process concepts within a manufacturing environment.
  • Work in close co-operation with Operations, Sales and Production Management as well as external suppliers and customers.
  • Manage projects in a timely manner, according to a structured development process.
  • Maintain and report on the financial status of production orders.

  

Skills

  • Rigorous attention to detail.

  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes for metals, timber and plastics.
  • Experience of domestic, nearshore and Far East supply.
  • Understanding of logistics and shipping.

  • A good to high level of IT proficiency, supported by a good understanding of Excel.
  • Lots of initiative, motivation, self-belief, mature thinking, and confident decision-making.
  • Ability to identify value-add opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and reasoning skills.
  • The ability to work within budgets and to deadlines.
  • Experience and awareness of sustainability initiatives and opportunities.
  • Good time and tasks management capabilities, combined with great organization skills.
  • A single-minded determination to learn, excel, control and impress.


Requirements

  • Proven track record with supply/manufacturing, project management and engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree level.
  • Availability to travel domestically and overseas.


Location

The clients you will work with are based in the greater Atlanta area and it is likely that you will visit the client’s premises on a number of occasions each week. Our team members work remotely via an online virtual office. There is an expectation that you will be prepared to travel occasionally, both in the US and overseas.
